• This blog came about one day when I was thinking about positivism. About how hard I’ve worked to figure all this stuff out.  Even in the face of some really unpleasant stuff.

In the process, I’ve become the kind of person others come to for advice.  Like the village auntie who gives you tea when you’re cold, a hug when you’re lonely and a laugh when you’re sad.  She’ll talk you down off the ledge and tell you straight when you’re being a jerk.  And the whole time you feel OK, because you know she cares.  I am grateful every day for my Mother’s wisdom in exposing me to such people.  Now it’s my turn.

The simple truth is that we live in a world where we are often cut off from community, the wisdom of elders and from a network of people who’ve watched us grow.  We’re not quick to ask for help, and many of us just need someone caring to talk to.  Doctors offices are full, self help books abound, and a huge percentage of people take antidepressants.

I’m not knocking these things, but it also helps to just have a caring person to remind you how to be happy.  So I’m using the new neighborhood of the web to be there for you.  To share what I’ve learned from my own elders and from life, and hopefully to make you feel a bit more connected than when you arrived.  I will also share resources and tidbits that relate to this topic.

Life is a precious jewel. Hopefully when you leave here you will be inclined to polish it and make it shine.  I want to live in a world where people are healthy, happy, and radiant.  That includes you. You’ll be amazed the difference it makes to feel that way.  And when it’s your turn, pass it on.  That feels pretty good, too.

    Be well, and celebrate life.
